Oak Brook Park District Passed Maximum Tax Levy for 2026
At the December 15, 2025 Oak Brook Park District board meeting, the board majority voted to increase the tax levy at the MAXIMUM cap rate. This vote shows how tone deaf the board majority is to Oak Brook homeowners’ concerns. The Oak Brook Park District residents know that regardless of need, the OBPD will want a MAXIMUM tax levy increase.
The voice of the people spoke during the April 2025 election, that they are sick of unnecessary Park District tax increases. The Oak Brook population is not growing; there is no need to continue empire building for non-residents.
The majority of the OBPD board could care less about what Oak Brook Park District homeowners want.
UNNECESSARY TAX LEVY INCREASE: During the meeting, Commissioner Tina Chan brought up that Park District cash reserves are above the maximum allowable per board policy. The large cash reserve surplus means OBPD already took too much money from taxpayers. Hence, is the tax levy increase necessary?
