Oak Brook Park District Ignored Election Results!
The Oak Brook Park District ignored election results on a referendum. The ballot asked Oak Brook voters whether the Oak Brook Park District should have more commissioners serving for shorter terms.
One question asked whether the terms of office should be cut to four years from the present six years. The results were 84% of Oak Brook voters voted YES on the referendum to reduce terms to four years, in order to increase resident participation. There were over 4,250 votes cast in favor of the referendum! See the results below:
The Park District Board ignored the election results.
Interestingly, the same Park District Commissioners who ignored the election results back then…are the same Park District Commissioners who are endorsing my opponent in this April 1, 2025 election. Same people are still around including Executive Director, Laure Kosey, and President of the Commissioner Board, Sharon Knitter. Furthermore, some past Park Commissioners who are endorsing are also the same.
