All Full/Part Time Employees can get ‘Purchase Cards’

Taxpayers may question why the Park District gives full-time and part-time employees access to the purchase card (a/k/a procurement card or p-card), which is a corporate credit card.

Currently, there are 45 full-time employees and 292 part-time employees. Even the part-time employees can spend on the procurement card. Total employees is 337 based on a 2024 compensation report received. FYI, this number was not consistent with the reported financials; it is higher.

The following is not the full list of employees who have a credit card, but a snapshot of those who recently used their Park District purchase card in a given couple months, including their monthly credit limit.

The total spent per year on these credit cards are:

2022: $430,000

2023: $450,000

Points accumulate on the credit cards, and you can see reward activity by month. As of 12/24/2023, points of 12,500 were used. For the amount of spend level per year, it is a lot of points that can be used for ____________.
